haunts this heart of mine
i am empty skin
completely hallowed within
i cry a heartache of tears
and the fear of not being agonizes
the long cold night -
i quietly watch the snowflakes fall
and it is here that i realize -
i am nothing,
a mere object of a dream
tainted in a state of disbelief
slipping slowly away -
hiding in the shadows
of world with nothing but turmoil -
i live in a dream of happiness,
the quaint times of a child left lost
to this cruel cruel world -
the wind blows
and i shiver
not realizing
that the cold has reached my bones -
instantly i am gone
long ago forgotten

the life of a child
helplessly leaping step to step
the lush green hill
with tracks etched in
signs of good times and
the laughter of innocence

leaving me tainted
with nothing but happiness

the tears that have torn my heart

the bitter lies and fears that drown me
